MY STORY

Michael Acevedo, of Glendale, Arizona, earned his Arizona Insurance license in 2018. His path into the industry includes experience in education, transportation, and law enforcement. A friend suggested he become an insurance agent because of the flexibility being an insurance agent offers-he could keep his full-time job and continue pursuing his college degree while being able to earn an extra income to help support his family. While his friend pointed out an appealing benefit, Michael recalled his experiences of knowing people whose lives were turned upside-down because they didn’t have life insurance in place to help deal with the family tragedies we all could potentially face. He especially felt the importance of life insurance when his father passed away a few years ago. While not a large amount, his father had a life insurance policy that provided significant help. “If it weren’t for that policy, my mother would not have been able to maintain her independence and keep her home. Recalling those experiences, I saw being an insurance agent as another way to help people with something that is so important, and often overlooked or put on hold for a more convenient time.” Michael was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and moved to Glendale, Arizona in 2017 with his wife, Claudia, and youngest son, Matthew. He is grateful for the positive influences he received from his parents, close family friends, and the leaders has was fortunate to work with throughout his career.
